The NSS Unit of the School of Computer Engineering, KIIT-DU, continued its annual flagship celebration, Daan Mahotsav 2025, with the event Sadbhavna Daan held on 19th October 2025 at Madhurmayi Adarsha Siksha Kendra, Bhubaneswar. The initiative aimed to spread joy, compassion, and inclusivity by bringing smiles to the faces of children through meaningful interactions and festive celebrations, resonating with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
With the participation of 56 NSS volunteers, the event began with a warm welcome from the children, setting a cheerful and affectionate tone. Volunteers extended their support by donating grocery items and other daily essentials to the orphanage, symbolizing care, solidarity, and social responsibility. The day was enriched with interactive activities such as awareness sessions on Diwali safety and mosquito prevention, presented through handmade posters, followed by a diya painting session, where children expressed their creativity under the guidance of the volunteers.
The celebration concluded on a lively and joyful note with a spirited game of Pass the Ball, filling the atmosphere with laughter and togetherness. Sadbhavna Daan beautifully reflected the values of kindness, empathy, and the joy of giving, reminding everyone that true festivity lies in sharing happiness with others.
The event was organized under the supervision of NSS SCE Programme Officers; Dr. Minakhi Rout, Dr. Subhashree Darshana, Dr. Raghunath Dey, and Dr. Ajaya Kumar Parida, who guided the volunteers in embodying the true spirit of Daan Mahotsav.
