The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar signed MoU with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Deemed to be University, Coimbatore on 26th July 2024. The agreement was signed with the objective of strengthening academic, research collaboration for joint research papers, patents and projects, students and staff exchange programmes. Furthermore, this collaboration also includes organization of joint seminars, symposia, conferences, short courses, summer school and meetings on academic and research issues. Cmde. R. Ravi Sankar (Retd.), Additional Director (AIP) and Head, Corporate and Industry Relations, Chennai Campus said that the agreement can bridge the gap of distance through various endeavours with a similar philanthropic attitude.
On the occasion, Professor K. R. Priya, Chair, Amritadarshanam delivered a Distinguished Invited Lecture on the topic “Gender Dynamics and Society”. During the course of her deliberation, she conducted activities revolving around gender roles and presented various perspectives. Earlier, Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice Chancellor, KISS-DU, in his Welcome Address, went down memory lane, reminding the audience that both the Universities have bestowed Honoris Causa upon their Founders and this MoU shall strengthen the existing bond between the two institutions. The ceremony concluded with formal words of thanks by Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar, KISS-DU.
