KSPH Organizes Rapid Assistive Technology Assessment (rATA) Training Programme for Area Enumerators

School of Public Health, KIIT-DU, in collaboration with AIIMS, New Delhi, is a partner in the WHO-supported rapid Assistive Technology Assessment (rATA) survey in Odisha State. This rATA survey is simultaneously conducted in eight districts drawn from four states in India. It will help to understand the met and unmet needs for use of assistive devices in India that will help the Government of India design and plan the services accordingly.

As a part of this survey, School of Public Health has conducted a two-day training programme for area enumerators during 26th & 27th October 2021. The training programme was inaugurated by Dr. Sudhir Kumar Satpathy, Director, KSPH in the presence of Prof. Suraj Singh from AIIMS, New Delhi & PI of this survey (virtual); Prof. Jugal Kishore, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi (virtual); staff members of KSPH & KIMS and trainee area enumerators. Dr. Satpathy highlighted the importance of credible data collection which is going to help the government plan and design proper services for the PWD. Dr. Suraj applauded the KSPH team for the best presentation during the training at AIIMS, Delhi and enthusiasm of Odisha rATA team at KIIT. Dr. J. Kishore was very confident of the Odisha team for reliable and valid data collection.
