Growth and development are important for any nation. But these terms have different definitions for experts from different fields. Also, sustainable growth is a challenge, even for developed economies. In this backdrop, KIIT School of Social, Financial & Human Sciences (KSFH) organized a talk on the topic “Growth, Development & Sustainability: Challenges in India”. Prof. Satya N. Mishra, Dean, KIIT School of Management joined the session as the expert speaker and delivered a thought provoking talk to the students of KSFH. He started with the theories propagated by the Father of Economics Adam Smith and tried to relate that to today’s scenario and explained various challenges the Indian economy is going through since independence on the developmental front. He also outlined the country’s achievements over the past seven decades.
KSFH has always been in the forefront in organizing seminars and workshops for its students on concurrent issues. After the reopening of the University after the pandemic, this was for the first time a seminar was conducted in the physical mode for the students. The happiness of attending a program in physical mode after so long was visible on the faces of students as well as faculty members of the School.
On the occasion, students of KSFH who had put up outstanding performance in the recently concluded 1st Odisha Inter-University Games at Baripada were also felicitated.
