KIIT School of Social, Financial and Human Sciences (KSFH) celebrated its 5th Foundation Day on 17th July 2023. KSFH, established in the year 2019 as a constituent school of KIIT Deemed to be University, currently provides undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Commerce, Economics, Sociology, Psychology and Public Policy. It started with a modest student strength of 70 in 2019 and has now grown to accommodate more than 1200 students, earning numerous accolades along the way.
Gracing the 5th Foundation Day Celebration of KSFH as the Chief Guest, Shri Shridhar Patra, CMD, NALCO, emphasized the relevance of Ramayana and Mahabharata in modern-day education while sharing his life experiences with the students. In her presidential address, Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Vice Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University, highlighted the increasing demand for the convergence of technology and Social Sciences.
The Guest of Honour, Prof. Nancy Homes, University of British Columbia, Canada, metaphorically compared travel and education, speaking on the importance of education in the journey of a student as both travel and education makes a man richer through experiences. Mr. Kiran Rana, General Manager, High Radius, emphasized the need for human interface with particular reference to Social Science graduates in the technologically-driven world.
Prof. (Dr.) Jayanta Kumar Parida, Director, KSFH, delivered the welcome address highlighting the glorious achievements of the School, while Dr. Pinaki Nandan Patnaik, Associate Professor, KSFH, proposed the vote of thanks. A mesmerizing cultural program by the students of KSFH followed the meet.
