Students of KIIT Animal and Environmental Welfare Society Visit Nandankanan Zoo Hospital, Laboratory and Breeding Centre

The members of KIIT Animal and Environmental Welfare Society functioning at KSAC visited Nandankanan Zoological Park as part of their Field visit. They were taken to the different facilities at Nandankanan including the zoo hospital, zoo laboratory, Pangolin breeding centre, Egg Incubation room, Feed Distribution Centre and to the Computerized Radiography unit. 

They were briefed about the various research activities that are being carried out and the state-of-the-art laboratory that caters to it. They also saw how the creatures are kept in nooks which recreate the territory they live in, helping them in giving a more normal environment and a sound existence.

They visited the entire zoo and also got first -hand information about the maintenance of hygiene and sanitation in the zoo. The entire trip was guided by Prof. Shrikant Mishra, Prof. and Dr. Ritesh Pattnaik, Asst. Prof. of School of Biotechnology who are the Faculty Coordinators of the society and accompanied by Ms. Jayalaxmi Mishra, staff of KSAC. Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director SS appreciated the efforts and acknowledged the initiative taken.
