KSAC Celebrates World Heart Day, Organizes Talk Show & Poster Making Competition

With a healthy HEART, the BEAT goes on!

On the occasion of World Heart Day 2020, Kamaya, the Medical Society of KIIT Student Activity Centre (KSAC), organized a Talk Show “Heart Tales” with the renowned Cardiologist and Head of Department of Cardiology, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS),  Dr. Panchanan Sahoo on 29th September 2020. Organized around this year’s theme, “Use heart to beat Cardiovascular diseases”, it was a LIVE show through the official facebook page of KSAC.

Dr. Sahoo briefed about the importance of taking care of the heart. He emphasized on the role of diet, exercise and lifestyle in maintaining a healthy heart. He also spoke on the impact of COVID-19 on the heart and other organs of the body. He advised the young mass on how to keep a balance between study, work and health. He asked the student community to listen to what their heart tells and to devote time for their hobbies, passion and interest during their academic career, which would help them, balance pressure and keep the heart healthy.

The Q&A session was moderated by Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director, Student Services in which Dr. Sahoo answered questions posted by the audience. An online Poster making competition was also organized by KIMAYA society in which many entries were received addressing ways to keep a heart healthy.

Dr. Behura thanked the speaker and congratulated him and his team at KIMS for doing a great job and rendering services to the patients. He thanked the entire team of KIMAYA for organizing this event. He also thanked Founder KIIT & KISS Prof. Achyuta Samanta for setting up KIMS which is catering to thousands of patients daily.
