‘Kraya & Kuber’, the Marketing & Finance Society of KIIT functioning under KSAC, organized the “Finance Workshop 2.0” on 6th February 2022 virtually on Zoom platform. The workshop, which had “Current Trends of Economics” as its theme and “Financial Budget-2022” as topic, was graced by Prof. S. N. Mishra, Dean, KSOM as the guest speaker and mentored by Prof. Biswajit Patnaik and Prof. (Dr.) Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director-Student Services, KIIT.
Providing an overview of the current situation of the Indian economy vis-a-vis global trends, Prof. Mishra discussed the various indicators of the economy and pointed out areas that the government needs to focus on. He summarized the Budget-2022 and its thrust areas. He threw light on provisions on various sectors like food, education, MSME, tax, etc. and predicted the impact of the Budget on them. Prof. Mishra concluded his presentation with the hits and misses of the Budget, while sharing his views on what could have been done. The talk was followed by a Q&A session.
As many as 250 students from KIIT and other institutions attended the workshop, which was managed by Miss Limarani Nayak and Mr. Ashfaq Ali, Coordinators, “Kraya & Kuber” along with other members of the Society, and hosted by Miss Tannya Gorai.
