Hindi Diwas was celebrated virtually by ‘Khwahishein’, the Hindi Society of KIIT, on 14th September 2020. The event was graced by Dr. Niva Sharma, Assoc. Professor, Sanskrit Dept., Nitishwar Mahavidyalaya, Muzaffarpur; and Dr. Satish Kumar Rai, Head, Dept. of Hindi, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Niva Sharma explained the importance to promote Hindi language and develop it so that it may serve as a medium of expression for all the elements of the composite culture of India and secure its enrichment by assimilating, without interfering with its genus, forms, style and expressions. Dr. Satish Kumar Rai spoke on how the Constituent Assembly of India adopted Hindi written in Devanagari script as the official language of the Republic of India and the importance of celebrating Hindi Diwas.
Shri Ashok Pandey, Advisor, KIIT & KISS described the role of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS in uplifting the Hindi language in KIIT and spreading the culture of “Namaste”. Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU and Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director, Student Services also spoke on the occasion.
The invited alumni presented their poems and essays at the virtual event which was appreciated by one and all. The event was moderated by Ms. Prigyansha Choubey, Student coordinator and Mr Tarun Maheswari, Asst. coordinator of ‘Khwahishein’. It ended with Dr. Kajal Parashar, Dy. Director, Community Engagement Cell and Faculty Coordinator, Khwahishen Society thanking everyone for being a part of the event.
