International Women’s Day KSAC Organizes Women’s Special Event

On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, a women’s special event, “Adi Shakti: Dreamers and Achievers” was organized by KIIT Wordsmith, the Official Literary (Writing) Society of KIIT functioning at KSAC to celebrate the sheer essence of womanhood. Speaking at the event, Dr. Attrayee Adhya Chatterjee, Associate Professor of English, G. D. Binani P. G. College, Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh highlighted the power and prowess of womankind across different fields. She shared her insights on the mythological significance of “Adi Shakti” and its prevalence in modern-day feminism. The session featured lively discussions about various aspects of feminism, even touching lesser-talked topics like casual sexism, unjust behavior in the workplace against women, and corroded feminism.

The speaker posed some thought-provoking questions, which met the equally intriguing viewpoints of the audience leading to interesting intellectual discussions. The event attracted many participants from different fields of study. Creative writing exercises also marked the event, wherein the participants were asked to write a letter to a woman who made an impact in each of the participant’s life. Participants also put forward the issues they face in their daily lives due to the frail establishment of feminism. The session concluded with a take-home message for all and vote of thanks. Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director congratulated the team for organizing such a thought provoking event.
