The 15th of August is a date that holds unparalleled significance to all Indians. It is the day that marks the end of about two centuries of British rule in India. And every year we pledge to uphold this freedom not only from a foreign domination, but also from all internal evils. The glory of Independence Day could symbolize much more than the mere end of a subjugation period.
To commemorate the illustrious occasion of the 75th Independence Day of our nation, Team Kalliope, the official anchoring Society of KIIT, decided to dedicate the occasion to the administrative heroes. Therefore, in this special episode of “Koffee With Kalliope”, Mr. Yogesh Ashokrao Patil, IAS graced as the Chief Guest. Mr. Patil is currently posted as the Assistant Collector and Assistant District Magistrate of the North Dinajpur district of West Bengal. After securing a reputable rank of 231 in the Civil Service Examinations of 2018, he was allotted the Indian Police Service (IPS) rank. In the following year, he reappeared for the Civil Service Examination and secured an AIR of 63, making it to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Despite adhering to a tight call of duty, he constantly guides the young aspirants of the country through his YouTube channel that goes by the name, ‘IAS Yogesh Patil’ and also through the Telegram channel titled, ‘UPSC Preparation with IAS Yogesh Patil’.
At the session, Mr. Patil narrated the circumstances which pushed him to be a civil servant. Speaking of his childhood days, he expressed his gratitude towards his father who motivated him in his journey all along. He advised the fellow student community of KIIT on multiple subjects be it in academics, sports or on subjects of moral dignity. His humility spoke louder than the prestigious office he held that placed the hosts at complete ease. He congratulated KIIT on marvelously ensuring the all-around development of the students and not just confining to the levels of academics, and commended the vision of Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS for ensuring holistic development of students. “Be a good human being; to yourself and to others”, he advised the participants.
Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director expressed gratitude to Mr. Yogesh Patil for accepting the invitation and being a part of the show. Additionally, he also extended congratulations to Riya Sinha and Debjyoti Barman for marvelously hosting the guests.
