Qutopia, the official quizzing society of KIIT functioning at KSAC, organized its Induction Quiz event – Launchpad 2022 – in offline mode after a hiatus of three years. The mega quizzing affair received overwhelmingly positive response from all the departments of the university. Around 436 teams (872 participants) registered for the event, which was kick started by Prof. (Dr.) Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director, Student Services, KIIT.
The prelims were held in two phases due to the huge number of participants. The first phase was hosted by Adyasha Satpathy, Coordinator, Qutopia and the second phase by Anish Agrawal, a senior member of the Society. The top eight teams qualified for the grand finale.
Anish Agrawal was the quizmaster for the finale of the event. After an intense two-hour battle for the coveted crown, Team Still in Lead – comprising Ujjawal Agarwal and Anurag Mukherjee – emerged victorious, followed by Team Californication, comprising Auinandan Bhowmik and Chirodeep Patra. Team Modulus comprising Deeptanshu Kumar Behera and Jiban Jyoti Mishra finished the second runners up. The top eight teams were given books and certificates as a token of appreciation. The winners will receive a cash prize of Rs. 9000/-, 1st runners up Rs. 7000/- and 2nd runners up Rs. 4000/-.
