The 92nd birth anniversary of the great leader, journalist, and founder of the daily newspaper Pragativadi, Late Pradyumna Bal, was celebrated across Odisha today. KIIT, KISS, and KIMS observed the occasion, with the Founder of these institutes Dr. Achyuta Samanta fondly remembering Late Bal’s legacy and contribution to the society at large.
Addressing 40,000 students at KISS, he described Late Bal as a visionary individual whose dedication, integrity, fearless journalism, social service, and commitment to the development of tribal communities continue to inspire generations. Dr. Samanta emphasized that Bal’s ideals are being actively upheld at KISS, reflecting his dedication to the underprivileged, the poor, and tribal advancement
The event featured notable guests, including Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice-Chancellor of KISS DU; Dr. Prashant Kumar Rautray, Registrar of KISS DU; and J R Mohanty, Registrar of KIIT DU.
They paid tribute to Late Bal and recalled his contributions, encouraging the students of KISS to emulate his fearless, candid, and principled approach. Various competitions were organized among KISS students to mark the occasion.
Later, homage was paid with floral tributes at the statue of Late Bal at the Pradyumna Bal Memorial Hospital on the KIMS campus, with Dr. Samanta and senior KIMS officials in attendance.
