NALCO Organizes Outreach Activity at KISS-DU

National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) organized an outreach activity at KISS-DU on the theme ‘Independent India @75: Self Reliance with Integrity’ on 30th July 2022 on KISS-DU premises. Speaking at the event, Shri Somanath Hansdah, Chief Vigilance Officer, NALCO said that trustworthiness, integrity and honesty are the core values of a human being and one should be firm in saying ‘NO’ to bribe and emerge as lifelong fighters.

He mentioned the various options of registering online complaints against corruption while keeping the identity anonymous. “Utilize your time here at KISS. Educate your siblings and put traditional indigenous knowledge and practices to use. One should not forget one’s roots. Education should make you humble and you should relentlessly work on nurturing your potential”, he told the students of KISS.

Shri. Hansdah concluded by sharing various employment opportunities with the students and expressed willingness to extend support to them in shaping their career. On the occasion, the Integrity Pledge was also administered by the members of the Vigilance Department of NALCO.

Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice-Chancellor, KISS-DU threw light on the significance of the pledge and urged the students to internalize it. Honesty, Integrity and Conscience are an integral part of the tribal society, he stated, motivating the students to emulate the Man of Integrity – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and see him as a role model.

In his welcome address, Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar, KISS-DU said that the young generation has a major role to play in curbing the spread of corruption in the society. He concluded by asking the students to share the problems of their areas with the invited guests as a reflection of concern for the development of their community.

The senior functionaries, faculty members, research scholars and students of KISS participated in the programme and made it a huge success. Shri Arun Kumar Dash, General Manager, Vigilance, NALCO proposed a vote of thanks.
