The International Research Conference on Inclusive Museum was successfully held from 13th to 15th September 2024, chaired by Professor Dr. Amareswar Galla, Pro-Chancellor of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS). The prestigious conference was organized in partnership with the International Council of Museums (ICOM), Austria and professional International NGOs aligned with UNESCO, bringing together thought leaders, scholars, and experts from 47 countries.
The conference represents a strategic event strengthening KISS‘s international portfolio and commitment to inclusive museum practices globally. The event was fully sponsored by the host Common Ground Research Networks and provided a robust platform for knowledge exchange and innovation.
The three-day conference featured six plenary sessions, 30 parallel sessions, and five workshops, showcasing a total of 151 innovative research papers, and demonstration projects. UNESCO and ICOM Austria showcased latest policy developments and SDG collaborations. These presentations contributed to the development of significant research output in the field of museums, highlighting diverse perspectives and challenges across various cultural contexts.
The proceedings from the conference are currently being edited by Professor Dr. Galla and it will be published in “The International Journal of the Inclusive Museum,” a prestigious Quartile 1 SCOPUS listed, and Web of Science journal. (https://onmuseums.com/journal)
