Dr. Ashok K. Mohapatra, Senior Professor at KISS-DU published an essay titled ‘Testimony, Aporia, and the Holocaust’ in the Poems of Dan Pagis, 8.1. (2019), brought out by University of Nebraska Press. This essay discusses the thematics of the Holocaust testimony that is impossible to articulate because of a brooding sense of traumatic loss that Dan Pagis suffered as a Holocaust survivor even after he migrated to Israel to become a classical Hebrew scholar. Pagis adopts a mode of de-subjectification and disarticulation to express what is essentially inexpressible. It is available on Project Muse.
