The NSS Units of several Schools of KISS Deemed to be Universities jointly observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 27th October 2025 to 2nd November 20205, in alignment with the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC)’s mandate. The NSS Units thoughtfully designed the activities of the week, keeping in mind this year’s theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility” and joined hands in this national mission to promote probity in public life and achieve a corruption-free society and maintaining transparency and creating greater sensitivity about the need for ethics in governance.
On 28th October 2025, The NSS Co-Unit of School of Tribal Legal Studies and Tribal Rights observed Vigilance Awareness Week. The event commenced with a formal inaugural session, which witnessed the presence of faculty members of the School. They highlighted the importance of integrity, transparency, and accountability in both personal and professional life. The NSS volunteers, Ph.D. scholars, and other students enthusiastically participated and delivered insightful speeches on the need for vigilance in society and the role of youth in combating corruption and unethical practices. The NSS Co-Unit of the School of Tribal Heritage and Tribal Indology organized a “Vigilance Rangoli Competition” for the NSS volunteers. The NSS volunteers were very creative in picturing their ideas on vigilance awareness. They voiced their thoughts through rangoli, hence bringing to light for the public the importance of organizing awareness programmes.
The NSS Co-Unit of the School of Comparative Indic Studies and Tribal Science observed Vigilance Awareness Week on 29th October 2025. The event aimed to sensitize students about the importance of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in building a corruption-free society. Around 70 enthusiastic students participated in the program, which featured various interactive activities such as debate and quiz competitions designed to encourage youth engagement and awareness. Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries emphasized the crucial role of students in promoting vigilance, accountability, and ethical responsibility. They urged the young generation to uphold integrity and work collectively to foster transparency for the well-being of society. The programme concluded with positive feedback from participants who expressed their commitment to practicing honesty and vigilance in all spheres of life.
Organizing the activities in turn, the NSS Co-Unit of the School of Indigenous Knowledge, Science and Technology organized a Poster Making Competition on 30th October 2025 to mark the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, based on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility”. All NSS volunteers of the School actively participated in the event with great enthusiasm and creativity. Participants beautifully portrayed the importance of vigilance and integrity through their posters, spreading awareness about the need for collective responsibility in building a corruption-free society. The competition provided a platform for students to express their ideas artistically while reinforcing the values of honesty and transparency.
On 1st November 2025, The NSS Co-Unit of the School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures joined hands in the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week. The programme commenced with a NSS unit song. To observe Vigilance Awareness week NSS volunteers also presented Nukkad Natak on the importance of observing vigilance awareness week and Folk Song reflecting the spirit of integrity, transparency and accountability in public life. The motivational addresses by the faculty members and NSS programme officers inspired everyone to play an active role in promoting vigilance awareness and fighting against corruption. The observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 at KISS-DU reinforced the commitment to uphold integrity and transparency in public life. It provided a platform for individuals to come together and promote a culture of accountability.
Observing on the same day, the NSS Co-Unit of the School of Tribal Resource Management organized an Essay Competition and a Vigilance Oath-taking Ceremony were conducted to promote the values of integrity and transparency among students. The winners of the essay competition were awarded in recognition of their thoughtful contributions. Following the student presentations, all the faculty members shared their valuable views on the relevance of vigilance and collective responsibility in maintaining ethical governance and promoting moral values among the younger generation. Their speeches emphasized the importance of being vigilant citizens to ensure fairness, justice, and integrity in all walks of life.
The NSS Volunteers, students, research scholars and faculty members of all the Schools of KISS-DU took the Integrity Pledge reaffirming their commitment to uphold honesty and transparency in all their actions. This symbolic act reflected the collective determination of the institution’s community toward building a corruption-free society. It was followed by the NSS Clap, which is an energetic clapping gesture used to symbolize the spirit of selfless service, unity and dedication to the community betterment.
The Vigilance Awareness Week was organized by NSS Programme Coordinator, all the NSS Programme Officers of respective Schools, Deans and Heads of various Departments, Faculty Members of all the Schools of KISS-DU. The role played by the NSS Volunteers, Research Scholars and Students of all the Schools in organizing and participating in this one-week was also applauded on the concluding day.
