Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University celebrated ‘World Photography Day’ on 19th August 2022. Speaking on the occasion, Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice-Chancellor, KISS-DU suggested the students click the photographs of various tribal-centric innovative activities in their respective communities and document them so that those can be used as reference tools for the University.
A University Level Photography Competition was organized to mark the occasion, in which Mr. Ganeswar Mohapatra, Associate Professor, School of Film and Media Sciences, KIIT-DU and Mr. Raj Kumar Samal, Cinematographer, Kalinga TV were invited as judges. Rabi Silpadia (M.Com) and Prahalad Majhi (M.Sc) bagged first and second place respectively. The third place was shared by Mamata Soren (M.A Geography) and Singhuram Hansdah (M.Sc Mathematics). Addressing the participants, Mr. Mohapatra discussed the opportunities of learning new skills, particularly in the field of photography. Mr. Samal motivated students on prospects in photography.
Dr. Chittaranjan Bhoi, Vice-Principal, KISS-DU and Dr. Arpana Premi Lina Oraon, Associate Professor also spoke on the occasion.
