KISS Deemed to be University organized ‘Kaushal-2020’ from 12th – 17th October 2020 to showcase the creative and communication skills of its students. The event was organized against all odds due to the current pandemic situation. All the competitions were based on the common theme of the Covid-19 and held over virtual platforms.
There were exhilarating responses from the students, located in remote parts of Odisha, in all segments of the competitions viz. Poster Designing, Creative Writing (including Santhali language), Debate, Essay, Collage Making and Brainstorming Quiz. In all the events, the students participated in large numbers. The objective was to develop concentration and focus in the students through co-curricular activities and keep their mind, body and soul healthy when the whole world is sailing in rough waters.
The week-long event provided an opportunity to the students to showcase their talents and embraced a canvas in which they could share their ideas and information on Covid-19. A virtual briefing session was conducted a day prior to the event to disseminate the guidelines and register the participants.
Dr. Sujata Acharya, Principal & Director Academics, KISS; Dr. Chita Rranjan Bhoi, Vice Principal; Prof. Harekrishna Satpathy, Advisor; Dr. Pramodini Jena, Convenor; and Dr. Tripura Mishra, Vice Principal & In-charge of Cultural Committee graced the inaugural function. Ms Saswati Jena & team presented the opening song and Mrs. Debahuti Pattnaik moderated the proceedings. Representatives of students’ viz. Mandasini Sabar of Zoology (Hons) and Eshwar Majhi of Botany (Hons), also spoke on the occasion.
The competitions were coordinated by Dr. Pramodini Jena, Convener of the Cultural Committee, Ms. Saswati Jena, Mrs. Bedamati Pattnaik, Mrs. Debahuti Pattnaik and Mrs. Sangita Parida, along with their teams. The results of the competitions and the felicitation ceremony will be conducted soon.
