KINS Organizes National Webinar on “Revitalizing & Creating a Positive Environment for Nursing Practice”

Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), KIIT-DU organized the second National Webinar on “Revitalizing & Creating a Positive Environment for Nursing Practice” in association with Nursing Next Live and Nursing Knowledge Tree, units of CBS Publishers & Distributors Pvt. Ltd., on 4th February 2022 on virtual mode. The webinar started with a keynote address by Dr. Niyati Das, Prof-cum-Principal, KINS. She also moderated the first session of the webinar.

Speaking on the topic “Fostering positive work environment for nursing”, Dr. Latha Venkatesam, Prof-cum-Principal, College of Nursing, AIIMS, New Delhi discussed on elements of a positive practice environment, implementing the standards of the healthiest work environment and the positive practice environments of health care professionals.

Dr. Asha P Shetty, Prof-cum-Principal, College of Nursing, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, Odisha gave a talk on “Technologies to revitalize the role of nursing”. Dr. Asha explained how technology will help the nursing professionals in many aspects of their lives. She talked about the stand-out technologies transforming medical care like smart beds, wearable devices, electronic health records, applications of telemedicine in health care, hospital alarm system, twitter tracks, artificial intelligence in nursing, innovative healthcare technology, vocera-patient discharge technology, pros and cons of technology in nursing, and nursing leadership challenges in integrating new technology, etc. The session was moderated by Mrs Kalyani Rath, Prof-cum-Vice Principal, KINS. 

Around 400 faculty members from different nursing colleges of India attended this webinar. Each session was followed by an interactive discussion with the expert. The webinar ended with a vote of thanks by the PR Officer of Nursing Next Live.
