World AIDS Day is observed every year on 1st December to raise awareness on the AIDS pandemic, which is caused by the spread of HIV infection. On the occasion, Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS) organized an e-seminar on “Ending the HIV/AIDS epidemics: Resilience Impact”.
The e-Seminar started with the welcome and keynote address by Prof. Amarita Lenka, Principal, KINS. She encouraged the budding nurses and faculties to be smarter, braver and stronger in combating the disease.
Mrs. Trupti Rekha Swain, Asst. Prof. KINS shared updates on HIV/AIDS. She elaborated the recent statistics, available services and plans initiated by the Government in the fight against AIDS. Mrs. Sasmita Nayak took the second session on the topic ‘Covid -19 and HIV/ AIDS’. She explained about prevention and counselling of patients living with HIV/AIDS, she also emphasized on the roles and responsibilities of nurses in context of Covid-19 and HIV/ AIDS.
The e-Seminar was hosted by Mrs Sarbattama Nayak and concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Prativay Ray. Around 120 participants attended it.
