KIMS Organizes Interdepartmental Academic Seminar

Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) organized an Interdepartmental Academic Seminar on 19th August 2021 in both online and offline mode. All faculties and post-graduate students attended the seminar which is held every Thursday. Dr. Shagun Thakur, Assistant Professor from the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, KIMS presented an interesting and awareness-raising topic “Medical Indemnity Insurance – an Overview”. She brought out the recent issues of Doctor’s being the soft target and legal routes for protection.

The second presentation was by Dr. Abirami C, 3rd year post graduate student from the Department of Dermatology on the topic “Innovatoins to the rescue: Connecting the dots”. She spoke regarding numerous novel innovations to improve and lessen the morbidity of leprosy patients, such as usage of thermo-chromic paints, cut-resistant gloves and a cup with better insulation.

Each of the presentations was followed by question and answer sessions and discussions among the faculty and post-graduate students. The presentation was followed by a small talk of 5-7 minutes by Professor Emeritus Dr. S. C. Dash on “Abhignyataru Pade”. He spoke regarding Independence Day, 15th August 1947.
