The Department of Medicine, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) actively participated at the National Conference of Association of Physicians of India (APICON) held in Jaipur from 14th-17th April 2022. Brig. Prof. A. P. Mohanty, Principal, KIMS; Prof. S. Patro, Vice Principal; Prof. L. Mohanty, Head, Department of Medicine; and Prof. B. N. Mohapatra delivered talks at the conference, which was attended by more than 8,000 delegates from all parts of India. Prof. K. P. Tripathy and Prof. P. K. Behera were conferred the prestigious Fellow of Indian College of Physicians (FICP), while Prof. S. Patro and Prof. Lalatendu Mohanty chaired scientific sessions at the conference.
Six free papers and posters were presented by the PG Residents of the Department of Medicine, KIMS. Dr. Aswathy Asokan Nair, second year PG Resident received the best free paper award in Tropical Medicine segment. It is a matter of great pride that the residents of the department have received the best free paper award in three consecutive offline APICON representations by the Department. Chapters were also contributed to Medicine Update 2022 by Brig. Prof. A. P. Mohanty, Prof. L. Mohanty and Prof. S. Patro.
