KIMS Journal Becomes First From Odisha to Be Recognised By ‘DOAJ’, A Globally Respected Research Directory

In a big moment for the medical and academic fraternity of Odisha, the Journal of Integrative Medicine and Research (JIMR), published by Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), has been officially indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

Its inclusion in DOAJ, an internationally respected indexing database recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC), validates the journal’s commitment to quality research, ethical publication practices, and accessible medical knowledge. The indexing will substantially enhance its global visibility and credibility among researchers, scholars, and healthcare professionals seeking career progression.

This recognition makes KIMS the only hospital in Odisha to receive this prestigious global honour, which is a significant leap in the state’s research and academic landscape. Launched in January 2023, JIMR has consistently upheld high academic and ethical standards, publishing ten continuous issues as a quarterly journal.

The journal’s editorial leadership team comprises Prof. Nirmal Kumar Mohakud, Editor-in-Chief; Prof. Prasanta Pradhan, Past Editor-in-Chief; and Asst. Prof. Geetachand Acharya, Managing Editor. The guidance of KIMS leadership also includes current Dean Dr R. C. Das and former Dean Dr Ambika Prasad Mohanty.

This achievement demonstrates the visionary leadership of Dr Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS. His unwavering dedication to academic excellence, consistent encouragement, and provision of world-class infrastructure have played a pivotal role in guiding the journal’s growth.

As JIMR steps onto global research, KIMS is confident of achieving future indexing in renowned databases such as Scopus and PubMed.
