KIMS Pain Medicine Department recently conducted the 6th Comprehensive Pain and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Hands-on Workshop (CPMU) successfully under Dr. Rajendra Sahoo, Consultant Pain and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Sahoo has been conducting this unique one-week hands-on training program every month and this was the 6th workshop in the series.
The workshop, attended by Radiologist from Hyderabad and two Pain Specialists from Bilaspur and Trivandrum, involved didactic lectures on basics of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, scanning protocols for shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, spine, pelvis and peripheral nerves, and demonstration as a volunteer. Additionally, the visiting doctors scanned and saw pathological conditions in patients during OPD hours and observed various interventional pain management procedures and got
their doubts cleared.
This approach not only helped them in decision making but also in Musculoskeletal Pain conditions diagnosis with ultrasound and ways to carry out procedures with real-time ultrasound guidance. The visiting doctors were highly satisfied with the course and praised the KIMS Hospital management for the support and facilities available.
