Dept of Pain Medicine, KIMS Successfully Conducts Comprehensive Pain Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Hands-on Workshop

Dept of Pain Medicine, KIMS under Dr. Rajendra Sahoo, Consultant, Pain Medicine successfully conducted the 13th batch of “Comprehensive Pain Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Hands-on Workshop” (CPMU) at KIMS Super Speciality Hospital from April 1st to April 6th, 2024.

Latest News This workshop is unique for Pain Specialists, PMR Specialists, Rheumatologists, Radiologists, and others seeking to gain further expertise in using “Musculoskeletal Ultrasound” for the diagnosis and treatment of various neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and chronic pain patients that we come across in our day-to-day practice. And every time, only 2 or 3 doctors are taken for this course so that learning is maximized.

This time, the course was attended by Dr. Ravi Padmanabhan, a senior radiologist from Singapore, and Dr. Sneha Shreyas and Dr. Sombabu, both Pain Physicians from Bangalore and Hyderabad respectively. During the course, they got insight and in-depth knowledge on protocolized scanning for shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, spine, gluteal scanning and peripheral nerve tracking to identify nerves and see pathological conditions.

The delegates also observed patient care at KIMS, clinical methods in Pain Medicine, patient evaluation and many procedures which were performed in the procedure room. They got ample hands-on training opportunities as a volunteer, and different patients for ultrasound scanning.

The participants were highly satisfied with the exposure they got over 6 days and were thankful to Founder and KIMS Management for creating such a platform and opportunity for learning according to them, this is unique and one-of-its-kind in the whole of India as far as “musculoskeletal ultrasound” training is concerned.
