2nd Edition of the KIMS National Conclave 2025 Held at KIIT

The Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), hosted the 2nd edition of the KIMS National Conclave 2025 at the KIIT Convention Centre on 22nd November 2025. The Conclave, conceptualised by Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, Hon’ble Founder of KIIT, KISS & KIMS, has grown into a significant annual forum where leading healthcare experts and young medical students come together for meaningful exchange and collaborative learning.

 

Founder’s Message

Prof. Samanta expressed his happiness over the growth of the forum, saying that platforms like this inspire young minds and strengthen India’s healthcare future. Emphasising his long-held belief that “health is wealth”, he highlighted the importance of accessible healthcare, especially in rural areas. He said that KIMS has been consistently working to support individuals who need personalised healthcare, along with providing advanced medical care at KIMS Bhubaneswar.

 

Theme and Participation

The Conclave was organised on the theme “Newer Horizons, Newer Concepts, Newer Innovations.”

More than 1000 students from KIMS, KIDS, KINS and SUM Hospital participated, interacting directly with some of the nation’s most respected medical leaders.

Launch of the HERO Award

A key highlight of the Conclave was the introduction of the HERO (Health Empowerment in Rural Odisha) Award, instituted by Prof. (Dr.) Samanta to recognise individuals who have made outstanding contributions to rural healthcare.

 

The first HERO Award was presented to:

Dr. Sibananda Mohanty for his remarkable service in the remote regions of Mayurbhanj, especially in malaria control and maternal health strengthening.

The Conclave featured high-impact keynote sessions, interactive discussions, and student engagements.
