ICE Student Chapter, KIIT Society of Civil Engineering organized a Technical Talk on “Geospatial Technology & Career” at the Conference Hall, Campus-3, KIIT Deemed University on 31th August, 2018.

er, Dr. T.P. Singh, Director, Symbiosis Institute of Geo-Informatics, Pune said that Geo-Spatial Technology is working on “Location Intelligence” which is going to play a major role in future.
He elucidated, “actually, there is a huge gap between industry and academia. Therefore proper management of Natural Resources has become inevitable to bridge this gap on one hand and developing Geo Spatial Technology on another. Developed Nations are utilizing the Geo Spatial Technology to bridge the gap between Industry and Academia.”
While the Transport Sector business boasts of a whooping 623 Billion Dollar, Geo Spatial Technology makes maximum technology utilization in this sector. In fact, United States of America is a major player in utilization of Geo spatial Technology, informed Dr. Singh.
He lamented, “though there are excellent opportunities in the field of Geo Spatial markets, however the concerning fact is that the market is being jeopardized by acute shortage of skilled human resources.”
At the outset, welcoming the Guest, Dr. Benugopal Mohapatra, Dean, KIIT School of Civil Engineer stated that our students are doing wonders outside. They have differentiated and elevated in many a spheres outside of the university.
While Senior Professor Dr. A.K. Rath presented a memento to the Chief Guest Dr. Singh, Dr(Mrs.) Kshyana Prava Samal, Associate Professor of SCE and Faculty Coordinator proposed the Vote of Thanks. More than 100 students along with faculties were present during the programme.
