Students of KSOL participated a Session on “Lessons on Financial Planning for Young Investors”

The KIIT Centre for Studies in Business and Corporate Law (CBCL) is a faculty-cum-student run society of the KIIT School of Law endeavoring for excellence in corporate law. CBCL has created various opportunities for students for research and study in the field of Corporate Law. The Centre aims at promoting and understanding of practical aspects of corporate and commercial laws among students.

The Centre for Studies in Business and Corporate Law (CBCL), KIIT School of Law conducted a tour to the local SEBI Office, Bhubaneswar on 31st October,  2019 for an enlightening and interactive session on ‘Lessons on Financial Planning for Young Investors’.

The session was open to the students of KIIT School of Law  and precisely 36 were in attendance, including Ms. Ipsita Das, Faculty Coordinator, Centre for Studies in Business and Corporate Law (CBCL), Student Coordinators and participants from 3rd, 4th and 5th year.

Mr. P.K Mishra, Assistant General Manager, SEBI, Bhubaneswar was on hand to open the sessions as the sole speaker with the students. His tools for the session included Videos, Audios, PowerPoint Presentations and Verbal Interaction.

During the two hour long session, the student participants had an opportunity to discuss concepts and develop recommendations where needed on the same. The topics included: Evolution and development of SEBI, Pre & Post SEBI Reforms, related regulations, need of a regulator in the stock market, objectives, powers and functions of SEBI, Securities Market (both Primary and Secondary Market) and market products, Frauds and the actions taken against them, Redressal Mechanism (SCORES) and the Do’s and Don’ts for young investors.

At the beginning, participants were briefed about the background information which was followed by a structured process of brainstorming and information exchange. At the conclusion of the session, the participants were provided with feedback forms on the same, which was duly filled and submitted back.
