The Gala Get Together for Staff Members of the KIIT Group of Institutions and KISS along with their Families was held at KIIT Cricket Stadium on Sunday evening amidst a Musical Show. The Gala Get Together was graced by Smt. Saswati Bal, President of KIIT and KISS; Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS; Sri R. N. Dash, Secretary, KIIT and KISS and Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Registrar, KIIT Deemed University among others.
Addressing the assemblage of staff and their family, President of KIIT and KISS, Smt. Saswati Bal said, the staff family get together is indeed a laudable initiative by Dr. Achyuta Samanta who is always prioritizing the betterment of staff members. We should not deny the significant contribution by each and every staff behind the growth and achievement of KIIT and KISS over the years. She has no words to express the greatness, Dr. Achyuta Samanta who has done incredible contribution for mankind.
Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT and KISS said, “in the present scenario, we are living within a world of linkage. Today’s event aims to connect the family members of staff with the institution and letting them to know the achievement and uniqueness of our two universities, so that they can propagate the same to their close acquaintances.”
He further said, “we always pursue different activities other than academics to escalate the brand visibility of the institutions among the communities beyond the horizon in order to expose the student and staff to the outer world.” In this context, he urged the staff members to involve themselves and their families in such a kind of get together more avidly in the years to come.
In his address, Sri R. N. Dash, Secretary, KIIT and KISS said that the organization though has completed 25 years chronologically since its establishment, but, it has seemingly completed 100 years of activities, what a standard institution supposed to be achieve within this time period.
He further said that the third edition of the Gala Staff Family Get Together, exemplifies the ever innovative thoughts of our Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta who just believes in the philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, i.e. the world is one family. Likewise we all the staff working here at KIIT and KISS should consider ourselves like one family irrespective of our position.
Presenting the introductory speech, Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Registrar, KIIT Deemed University said, “achieving new heights of excellence have been the hallmark of both KIIT and KISS Deemed Universities. While, the cosmopolitan and vibrant campus of KIIT Deemed University that provides holistic education, has made a niche for itself as one of the most sought institutions for students worldwide, dignitaries visiting KISS across the globe have been extolling profusely for its uniqueness.”
“Organizing a Gala Staff Family Get Together, the university has set a precedent as it has created a forum where the family members of the staff would be able to know what’s what of KIIT & KISS regarding the achievement of the institutions over the years,” she added.
On this occasion, the dignitaries felicitated pride of Odisha Mamata Dalai (6), a KISS student and Pankaj Kumar Mahanta (15) of Keonjhar who were awarded by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24th January, 2018 with the National Bravery Award-2017 for their exemplary display of courage.
In fact, Mamata Dalai, a native of Bankuala village under Dangamal Gram Panchyat in Kendrapara district, was selected for the award after she fearlessly fought off a crocodile to save her sister Asanti’s life last year. Similarly, Pankaj Mahanta had displayed courage by diving into the Baitarani river and saved three women who were on the verge of drowning in the river.
