NSS wing of KSOM observed the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

NSS wing of KSOM observed the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi as a part of the NSS week at KIMS Auditorium.

The Inaugural Session was graced by Mr. Madhusudan Das, National Trustee and Member, State Advisory Board of N.S.S (Government of Odisha) and Dr. Biswajeet Ray, National Convener, Rastriya Yuva Sangathan, India.

At the outset, placing the Opening Speech, Prof. Kajal Parashar, Programme Coordinator, KIIT NSS Bureau welcomed and introduced the distinguished Guests to the audience and emphasized the role of Mahatma Gandhi in freedom struggle. In the context of 150th  Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, she said that India through Mahatma has significant influence in the history of India and world. She also laid focus on role of N.S.S. in the society, how it is able to serve society.

Mr. Madhusudhan Das in his speech emphasized on National integration, Peace, Harmony, Voluntarism and Leadership based on Non-violence, Truth & Humanitarianism which our Father of the Nation used to practice during Freedom struggle Movement. The role of NSS in present scenario is to help Society by organizing various awareness camps, working in communities to fullfill basic needs.

Dr. Biswajeet Ray started from by quoting “In a Gentle way you can shake the world”, which Mahatma Gandhi followed. He emphasized the role of Gandhi in Champaran Movement, Civil Disobedience Movement and  the Quit India Movement. Then he focused on N.S.S society of KIIT, how it is playing a vital role in creating various cleaning camps, Plantation programmes and blood donation camps which is much concerned about society.

Among the dignitaries, Ms. Sarojni Brahma Gender Specialist Smart City limited Bhubaneswar, Prof. (Dr).Abhishek Kumar, Programme Officer N.S.S School of Management and Programme Officers of N.S.S of all schools of KIIT were present on the occasion. In the audience, senior functionaries, faculties and students of KIIT DU graced the inaugural function. On this occasion, scintillating Cultural Performances. Short Skit were displayed to the audience’s delight.

Vote of Thanks was proposed by Prof. (Dr).Abhishek Kumar (Programme Officer) N.S.S wing of KSOM. He shared his views about Mahatma Gandhi’s principles, values and how the youth of our country needs to incorporate those in their lives.
