Two day National Seminar on “Reaching the Unreached through Science and Technology” jointly organized by Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) Bhubaneswar Chapter and KIIT Deemed University inaugurated today at KIIT Campus. Inaugurating the seminar Prof. Dr. Ashok Saxena, Former General President of ISCA said, the seminar is a forum for scientists and researchers to share their knowledge and ideas. It is also beneficial for student researchers as they will get a chance to interact with great scientists and researchers. Addressing the youth and brooding scientists who participated in the seminar, he said that there are many more reasons to cheer as around 70% Indians are less than 35 years. We have with us a young India with very clear vision, he added.
Presiding over the seminar Dr. Achyuta Samanta, General President, ISCA and Founder of KIIT & KISS said, “I work as a catalyst to promote scientific activities and propagate scientific knowledge across the country and globe, we can’t live without science. Fruits of science must reach the villages of India, he added. Still today we are eliminating poverty completely from our society. Poverty still prevails in India. The scientists and researchers should try to solve the social issues through their innovations.
The main objective of ISCA is to create a scientific temperament throughout the country, said, Prof. P. P. Mathur, General Secretary, Scientific Activities, ISCA. The seminar will establish a link between two generations i.e. the experienced and eminent scientists and student researchers.
Prof. Vijay Laxmi Saxena, Former General Secretary, Scientific Activities, ISCA focused on the relevant of science and technology in the present scenario. In his speech Prof Hrusikesh Mohanty, VC, KIIT Deemed University said, there are many people in rural area have not formal education but they have good ideas. The scientists and researchers should try to identify these people and make their ideas fruitful for society through research. Dr. Sasmitarani Samanta, Registrar, KIIT Deemed University gave welcome address while Dr. Prashant Rath, Treasurer, ISCA Bhubaneswar Chapter proposed vote of thanks.
