KSOL Organizes 6th KIIT National Moot Court Competition 2018

The 6th KIIT National Moot Court Competition 2018 is being organized by KIIT School of Law from 28th to 30th September, 2018. A total of 42 teams from across the country including National Law Universities and reputed Law Colleges, have participated in this event. The Inaugural Ceremony was held on 28th Sept. 2018 at 10.00 A.M. in Lecture Hall-1 of KIIT School of Law in the august presence of Prof. N.L. Mitra, Former Chancellor, KIIT Deemed University; Prof. H.K. Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT – DU; Mr. Jacob from United Kingdom; Prof. N.K. Chakraborty , Director, KIIT School of Law and Prof. P.K. Sarkar, School of Law.

In his inaugural address, Chief Guest, Prof. Mitra traced the development of Moot Court Program in India and also brought the concept behind Conflict Resolutions. He also mentioned the dialectics of legal conflict and the ways and means by which it can be resolved. The Guest of Honor, Mr. Jacob described his experience as an Entrepreneur and the importance of law & lawyers in today’s globalized world. He also pointed out the career opportunities of law graduates in International as well as National Trade & Commerce in post globalized era.

At the outset,  Prof. N.K. Chakrabarti, Director, KIIT Law School welcomed all the dignitaries, participants and the students and expressed his satisfaction the way various Law Schools and Universities responded to this competition year after year. He also discussed various craftsmanship and mannerism which can be learned through Moot Court Practice. Eventually, vote of thanks was  proposed by Prof. P.K. Sarkar, Chairman, Moot Court Society, KIIT School of Law.
