Considering the success of the previous episodes of ‘Koffee with Kalliope’, expectations were high on the organizing team for the upcoming episode. The efforts of the Public Relations team were answered by the generosity of one of the rising stars of Indian entertainment domain. The Kalliope team welcomed Mr. Abhilash Thapliyal, popular radio jockey and actor, as guest at the latest episode of its virtual talk show held on 6th June 2021.
Mr. Abhilash Thapliyal is a renowned radio jockey and a distinguished actor. He commenced his career as a radio jockey at a juvenile age and since then has faced several opportunities and struggles. Today, the people of our country recognize him as the beloved SK sir from the popular web series, ‘Aspirants’, but his reputation is not confined to the frame of just a single show. He had been the host of the World Kabaddi league, in-stadium host of Formula1, and host of the IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils. He has been the mascot for the Get Healthy campaign of Nestle and also been the face of Hindustan Time’s ‘Campus Ka Mahayudh’. He made his big-screen debut through the character of Prashant in the 2018 Saqib Saleem and Tapsee Pannu starrer, Dil Junglee.
The talk show dived into his ideologies and explored the versatility of the entertainment sphere. Mr Abhilash Thapliyal, being a lover of satirical comedy, addressed the sensitivity of this genre. He acknowledged how it thrills him to explore the necessity of opinionating his views and also shared the message that opinionating helps keep democracy intact.
He recollected his most favourite memories from the sets of Aspirants, asserting the importance of incubating hobbies alongside building the professional image. He classified love and inspiration as two different pathways to drive passion into one’s soul, being slightly partial to the former. His words fueled the audience with a fresh dose of dopamine and his charisma mesmerized every attendee of the show.
