KISS Students Observes Constitution Day of India

The students of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences(KISS) assume oath to become responsible, committed and law-abiding citizens of India  on the eve of 69th Constitution Day of India observed today(26th of November, 2018) at KISS premises.

At the outset, Dr. P.K. Routray, C.E.O. of KISS threw light on the significance of this day and elucidated why this day needs to be observed by the students community. Hailing Dr. B.R. Ambedakar as the principal architect of the constitution, he said constitution is the holy book of our nation and we all should obey it with reverence.

In recalling the formation of the Indian constitution way back in 26th November, 1949,  Mr. Prakash Chandra Behera, a KISS teacher said that it took the Constituent Assembly 2 years 11 months and 17 days to accomplish this stupendous task of drafting Constitution. Another teacher  of KISS, Mrs. Supriya Patnaik made the students take oath as a mark of respect and compliance to the doctrines of our constitution as per its preamble.

In fact, Constitution Day (National Law Day), also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated in India on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of Constitution of India. On 26th November, 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India while it came into effect on 26th January, 1950.

Among others, Mr. Pramod Kumar Patra, Dy. C.E.O, KISS;  Mr. W. Easwar, F.O; Sri Basanta Kumar Behera, D.D.O. and Sri Rudrakesh Jena, Assistant Director, Sports were present on the occasion.
