Assistant Professor of Cardiac Anaesthesia, KIMS Dr. Ashok Kumar Badamali received Prof. S. Satpathy award for best paper presentation by practicing Anesthesiologist during 29th EAST ZONE ISACON, organized by AIIMS, Bhubaneswar for his topic “The effect of protocol based learning of healthcare staff on outcome in a tertiary care institution of Odisha”. His idea of imposing protocol based regular training of healthcare staff like junior doctors, nursing staff and other paramedics and also its effect on team development and improvement of quality was appreciated the judges and audience of EAST ZONE ISACON. Remarkably, Dr. Badamali is the only Anaesthetist to receive the award thrice.
Two workshops were conducted at KIMS, Bhubaneswar on 20th October, 2019 for EASTZONE ISACON of Anaesthesia Society Eastern India. Faculties from pan India trained more than 60 delegates on Hemodynamic Monitoring and Peri-Operative UltraSonography . The faculties were Dr. Subhendu Sarkar (B. M. Birla, Kolkata); Dr. Swati Chhabra (AIIMS, Jodhpur); Dr. Bhanu Pratap Swain(TMH); Dr. Satyajit Mishra (AIIMS, BBSR); Dr. Sanghamitra Mishra; Dr. Vivek Choudhury; Dr. Samarjit Bishoi; Dr. Randhir Mitra; Dr. Dharma Jivan Samantary from Bhubaneswar while Dr. Ashok Kumar Badamali; Dr. Saurav Sutradhar and Dr. Sashank Mallik from KIMS conducted the workshop.
All the delegates appreciated the scope of hands on training they received and the facilities available at KIMS.
