KIMS Cardiologist eulogized at International Conference

Bringing glory to KIMS once again, Dr. Anupam Jena, Cardiologist at KIMS, has taken the credibility of our Institution to new heights globally.

He presented a challenging case at the International Conference (TCT) at San Francisco, USA held recently. In fact, TCT (Trans-catheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics) is the biggest and most respected conference in Interventional Cardiology in the world, attended by more than 15000 cardiologists from all over the world. Here a handful of challenging cases are selected from all over the world for presentation.

The challenging case from KIMS was highly appreciated for the very complex nature of the stenting and good outcome for the patient. A young male presented with abnormal enlargement of the aorta (called aortic aneurysm). The patient visited many hospitals of repute but was refused treatment due to the high risk nature of the disease. He underwent successful stenting of aorta at KIMS. Dr. Anupam Jena also had the distinguished honour of presenting another talk at TCT on intervention for complex and high risk patients.

Notably, KIMS is offering state-of-the-art treatment of heart diseases and has now pioneered the management of complex and high risk cases of heart disease i.e. nonsurgical replacement of heart valves, cardiac electrophysiological study and catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias, device closure of congenital defects of the heart, stenting of coronary arteries etc.
