The 5th Kalinga Global Film Festival (KGFF) is taking place from December 13th to 15th, 2024 at the KIIT Deemed to be University campus. The festival will showcase a curated selection of 45 films, which include 12 Feature Films, 18 Short Films (Fiction), 5 Documentaries, and 10 Student Films.
The festival, being held under the guidance and support of the Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta, is a celebration of the global cinematic community, with renowned filmmakers, producers, actors, and industry experts scheduled to attend. The festival will take place at various venues on the KIIT campus, including the Campus-6 Auditorium, Campus-17 Auditorium, Open Air Theatre (OAT), and the Seminar Hall.
The inaugural ceremony on December 13 will be graced by Shri Suryabanshi Suraj, Hon’ble Minister of State (Ind. Charge) for Higher Education, Sports & Youth Services, Odia Language Literature & Culture, Govt. of Odisha.
Film Producers Vipul Amrutlal Shah, Mr. Abhishek Agarwal, Mr. Mayank Singhaniya, Mr. Abhishek Tarachand Jain, Mr. Jadumoni Dutta, Mr. Navjyot Bandiwadekar, Film Directors Mr. Tushar Hiranandani & Mr. Sagar Suneel Puranik, actress Rupali Sood; Wildlife Filmmaker Subbiah Nallamuthu; and Bollywood Writer Mr. Raaj Shaandilyaa among other directors, producers, and actors from across the country will also join the event.
The Kalinga Global Film Festival is an annual celebration of cinema, art, and culture, bringing together filmmakers and enthusiasts from around the world. It aims to promote creativity, foster cultural exchanges, and build a strong film culture in Odisha. Through screenings, discussions, and master classes, the festival empowers young talent and connects them with the global filmmaking community.
