The School of Computer Engineering (SCE), KIIT Deemed to be University organized the “Online Project Expo-2020” on 5th September 2020. Project Expo Proceedings was also released on the occasion. Considering the pandemic situation, the School level Project Expo was conducted over Zoom and YouTube Live and was witnessed by over 400 participants.
The Expo provided a platform for the 2020 pass out students to showcase their final year project works. The project works covered diverse fields of Computer Engineering starting from Algorithms Design, Circuit Design, IoT Applications, Website Design, Data Science, Machine Learning, Mobile Apps Developments, Image Processing, NLP, etc. The event was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Director, SCE, and Dean, SCE, KIIT Deemed to be University.
Inaugurating the event, Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU said that one day industries will cover the Project Expo and will give placement opportunities to the students by looking at their project work. In view of the present day scenario, he expressed his happiness on the successful organization of Project Expo and the publication of the proceedings by the School of Computer Engineering. He commended the School for setting an example in organizing such types of events. Prof. (Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar congratulated the School and the Project FIC team for successfully organizing the event and motivated the participants with his talk.
This year, around 300 projects were developed in the School by different groups of students with the help of their supervisors. After preliminary screening by the review committee, 70 projects got selected for publication in the Project Expo proceedings in the form of a book with ISBN, edited by the team of Project FICs (Dr. Jagannath Singh, Dr. Sushruta Mishra, Ms. Junali Jasmine Jena, Mrs. Lipika Mohanty, Mrs. Sarita Tripathy, Ms. Ronali Padhy and Dr. Banchhanidhi Dash).
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. Jagannath Singh, FIC UG Project, provided details about the Project Expo-2020 and the proceedings. Prof. Samaresh Mishra, Director, School of Computer Engineering, in his speech, highlighted the progress of the School in the field of research, project and developments and also encouraged the faculty members and students to keep up the trend. Prior to his speech, he extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries and members present in the meeting and congratulated all the faculty members on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
Some selected projects were showcased by the students. The entire session was anchored and coordinated by Ms. Junali Jasmine Jena and the ICT support for online streaming was coordinated by Mr. Jay Prakash Singh, ICT-Executive of the School. The event ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Bhabani Shankar Prasad Mishra, Dean, School of Computer Engineering.
