KIIT Quality Assurance Cell organizes a Virtual Special Session on “Internalization of Quality Culture and Institutionalization of the Best Practices” on 3rd November 2020. Speaking at the session, Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University highlighted that the primary aim of the IQAC is to develop a mechanism to promote conscious, consistent and catalytic action plans to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution and to promote institutional quality enhancement and sustenance through the internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of the best practices.
IQAC should facilitate and contribute towards ensuring clarity and focus in the institution’s march towards quality enhancement; ensuring internalization of quality culture; ensuring enhancement and coordination among the various units and activities of the institution and institutionalizing all good practices; providing a sound basis for decision-making to improve institutional functioning; acting as a dynamic system for quality changes in HEIs; and building a sound methodology for documentation and internal communication, she suggested.
She urged all the functionaries of the University to be confident about their roles and responsibilities in their workplace. She informed that the QA Cell has been formed in such a way that the different aspects such as quality, accreditation process, and ranking of the University can be performed effectively.
Prof. Samanta also appreciated that all lab demonstrators of different schools have completed their skill training in different government agencies which have enhanced the quality of the online or e-learning process of the University. Lastly, she suggested that faculty coordinates of the QA Cell of each School should ensure the proper execution of various processes in terms of quality as decided by the University and monitor the different processes of the University. She appreciated the efforts of each member and faculty coordinators of QA Cell for their hard work, honesty and commitment.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. S. K. Mahapatra, Director, KIIT School of Management said that the quality enhancement of the University comes from the improvement of different processes associated with it.
Earlier, Prof. Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi, Director, Quality Assurance Cell, KIIT extended a warm welcome to the Pro-Vice Chancellor and all members present in the session. He informed about different challenges of QA Cell in the coming days and thanked all members for their cooperation and timely submission of data as desired. Distribution of NAAC criteria among different schools of the University has also been done with an aim to develop a systematic, transparent and coordinated process.
All school-level QA Cell faculty coordinators, Deans/Directors of different schools, and QA Cell members participated in the special session and appreciated the talk. Prof Sukanya Dasgupta, Faculty Coordinator, QA Cell, School of Architecture proposed the vote of thanks.
