The KIIT Deemed-to-be-University, home to more than 30,000 students, organized the ‘Parents’ Meet’ as part of its silver jubilee celebration to express profound gratitude to them as the key stakeholders of the Varsity.
The event was named ‘Kritajna’ and it comprised various competitions, movie shows and colourful shows for the parents, ending with a huge gathering at the KIIT Cricket stadium that was addressed by the Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr Achyuta Samanta.
Expressing his gratitude to the parents for their participation and reposing their faith and trust in KIIT, Dr Samanta said there has not been a single meeting or an event where he has not extended his gratitude to the parents.
“My principle is to be true to the salt you eat. I always express my appreciation and acknowledgement to the parents because of whom KIIT has grown to become a huge organisation,” he said.
“The objective of Kritajna is to express thanks and gratitude to the people who are connected with KIIT and KISS for the last 25 years,” he underlined.
Striking an emotional connection with the parents, Dr Samanta said KIIT has been created by the almighty and not because of any undue favour or support from any quarters. He said that KIIT believes in transparency and had no hesitation to invite the parents to the campus for the silver jubilee celebration.
He said that the trust and faith of the parents have always helped KIIT in its pursuit to ensure that students are well-placed in reputed firms after graduating from the University.
KIIT Vice Chancellor Dr Sasmita Samanta said that KIIT’s focus on inclusivity and accessibility has put it at the forefront. She said that the University has become associated with innovation and excellence and is ranked in the cohort of 600-801 in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking.
KIIT Pro Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Saranjit Singh said KIIT follows a student-friendly culture where each of them can walk in and discuss academics and their career. “Our university is known for extending 100 percent career opportunities. Let me assure you that despite every headwind, KIIT will ensure good placement. We did this event during the Covid times”.
The programme also witnessed the parents sharing their experiences about their association with KIIT through their wards and extending their deepest appreciation to the Founder for the success of both KIIT and KISS.
