NSS Day is celebrated throughout the country on 24th of September every year. The celebrations mark the formal launch of NSS on 24th September 1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of the Nation. KIIT NSS Bureau celebrated the NSS Day over virtual platforms due to the prevalent pandemic situation. Mr. Madhusudan Das, National Trustee, NYP India; Mrs. Surekha Sundari Swain, SLO-cum- Deputy Secretary, Govt. of Odisha; Mr. Saida Naik, Regional Director, Regional Directorate of NSS, Bhubaneswar; and Prof. (Dr) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU graced the occasion as the dignitaries.
The webinar started with the welcome address by Dr. Kajal Parashar, Programme Coordinator. Prof. (Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty also addressed the dignitaries and all the participants. Mr. Saida Naik appreciated the efforts of NSS Volunteers of KIIT and KISS and heartily thanked Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS for his immense contribution towards the society and motivating the volunteers through his work.
Mrs. Surekha Sundari Swain conveyed her compliments to everyone. Mr. Madhusudan Das motivated the NSS Volunteers to bring a change in society and urged the volunteers to realize that knowing others is wisdom but knowing yourself is enlightenment.
The event was followed by the cultural programme, where dance videos were presented by the volunteers of KIIT School of Electronics and KIIT School of Law. Another video of the NSS Week Celebration in the Kesura Village by the Volunteers of KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering was also presented.
All the Program Officers and Volunteers of KIIT NSS Bureau were a part of this programme. At last, Ms. Shruti Singh, Program Officer, School of Electronics Engineering proposed the vote of thanks, thanking the dignitaries, the KIIT Functionaries, NSS Programme Coordinator, Professor Kajal Parashar and NSS Volunteers for providing continuous support for this Event.
