KIIT NSS Bureau Organized NSS Day-2018

The NSS Day was observed by the NSS Bureau, KIIT Deemed to be University at KSOM Auditorium, Campus-7 on 24thSeptember 2018.

Sri M. Ramakrishnan, Regional Director, NSS Bureau, Odisha graced the event as Chief Guest. Advising the student volunteers, he said, “Life is a challenge and whoever face such challenge, will shine in life. Try to realize the dream of your parents and make the best use of your inner potential. Differences are there in the mind and attitude of an individual. Try to involve yourself in the service actively to comply the need of the society. Students should show the psychological balance to take the right decision. As in future you are going to lead the country, so try to shape your life”

In his address, Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, VC, KIIT -DU said, “the journey of serving the society has been immersed with this university. You will reinvent, what will be the value of tomorrow. You need to look into the society intensely to see the complex problems in the society. The way of looking into the society has to be cultivated. You can contribute a solution for resolving a problem. In this context, I would like to invite the international students of KIIT  to participate in this service scheme. I wish KIIT will lead in the eastern India and become the flag bearer of NSS.

The person who won the hearts of NSS volunteers, students and faculties was none other than Madhusudan Das popularly called as “Madhubhai”. Through the motivational talk he delivered to the packed audience, he not only made the audience spellbound but also received a standing ovation  for his profound words.

He said that social transformation comes through self transformation. When you believe and think yourself as an ordinary, you will be eventually become an extraordinary. If you want to live, then live for others. Until and unless you adopt the right knowledge, action and aptitude, you can’t contribute for nation building. NSS teaches us for the development of the society at large as well as community and personality development. The motto of NSS is to make everyone champion.

Prof. Jayant Kumar Parida,  Director, Quality Assurance said that,  as we believe the country where do we live in, therefore we should come forward and make a motto regarding this.  Brand power has been  replaced by Brain Power. You should make yourselves the torchbearer of the country to make it an advanced and developed nation.

At the outset, putting the welcome address, Prof.  Kajal Parasher, Program Coordinator, KIIT NSS Bureau said,  “we should work not only to get the award,  as an award is just a motivation. You have to groom your successors. Besides, you have to make yourselves smart both mentally and physically. Then only you can think of the development of the nation.”

Dr. Susanta Tripathy, former Program Coordinator said that NSS Day is a showcase of elaborating our NSS Volunteers, i.e. how they have connected with the community and received smile from them. On this occasion, Ms. Jinia Kundu, Assistant  Professor, KIIT School of Law was felicitated  by the guests on being selected as the State Level best Program Officer.
