KIIT Deemed to be University, in collaboration with LN Indtech Services Pvt. Ltd. and CSIR-IMMT, has developed a technology, called ‘Elcogen Technology’, to treat wastewater discharged from Covid-19 hospitals and other screening centers.
This technology has been highly appreciated by the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), Govt. of India and funded for the demonstration on a pilot scale as a part of the Covid-19 research initiatives. The technology has been patented, while the pilot plant will be ready within a couple of months for a demonstration to NRDC, CSIR, as well as Govt. of Odisha. This unique innovative technology can be used to treat many complexes and wastewater and, as a result, serve the society during this pandemic situation.
The researchers and scientists who have relentlessly been working for this technology are Dr. Rojalin Sahu, Associate Professor in Chemistry, School of Applied Sciences, KIIT-DU; Dr. Subash Chandra Mallick, Director, LN Indtech Services Pvt.
