KiiT International School celebrates its 13th Foundation Day to commemorate its journey with great enthusiasm, fun and frolic. The solemn occasion commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by speeches by Chairperson, Dr. Mona Lisa Bal, President, KIIT& KISS Smt. Saswati Bal, Principal, Dr. Sanjay Suar and Academic Director Mr. Pradeep Kumar Das. The Investiture Ceremony was one of the segments which was conducted with great zeal, zest and dignity to welcome the newly formed Student Cabinet. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Virender Kumar Mehta, Author, Speaker, Trainer and World Record Holder of memorizing Oxford Dictionary. It was nothing less than a treat for the senses.
At the outset, placing the Welcome Address, the Chairperson of KiiT International School, Dr. Monalisha Bal said that, personally I look forward for the holistic development in all of the students. We should vie for quality education instead of quantity, i.e., the quality to make learning interesting and joyful. As we have not reached our goal yet, we have to put our level best effort to achieve it.
Gracing the occasion as the Chief Speaker, Mr. Virender Kumar Mehta, World Record Holder Word Wizard who has memorized a whopping 80000 English words(almost the entire Oxford Dictionary), advised the students to follow right work ethics. “Don’t let anything come between your work and goal. Often adhere to the three traits for success, i.e. Desire, Determination and Direction. If you have adequate patience and passion, then anything won’t be impossible on your way”, Mr. Mehta added. He elucidated that in life it is nothing, but stress management is the need of the hour.
The President of KIIT and KISS Smt. Saswati Bal said to the students, “if you are focused and good, then you can achieve so much in your lives. You should try to be good human beings so that you can inculcate all the good qualities during your student career”.
The Principal of KiiT IS, Dr. Sanjay Suar hailed the students as the pioneers of future and messengers of society. He shared the uniqueness of the school and also outlined the aspirations and goals in the years to come, recognizing the role of the team in the growth of an institution.
Mr. Pradeep Kumar Das, Director, KiiT-IS said that the two things which have the potential to change the world are education and empowerment. Education should not be confined to academic only. The teacher should be more professional and acquire more and more skill. We should continue to serve the country though selfless service and life- long learning, exactly what KIIT has been emphasizing and by dint of this it has made an impact in the society.
This was followed by the swearing in ceremony of the Students’ Cabinet and the prefects. The flag march from the aisles created a flutter as every eye strained to catch a glimpse of the spectacle. The investiture closed with the flags being placed in the flag post, followed by pinning of the badges. The Head boy and Head girl addressed the gathering. The academic and all round toppers were awarded prizes and certificates amidst deafening applause. To top it up to perfection, various members of the fraternity, faculty and staff, were also felicitated for their contribution to the School.
