KIIT Hostel Department Organizes Inter-Hostel Premier League (Badminton & Basketball Tournament)

The Department of Hostel, KIIT conducted an Inter Hostel Premier League (Badminton & Basketball Tournament) from 11th March to 5th April 2024. This hugely popular sports event was held through Knockout, League, Quarter Final, Semi Final, and Final matches. The Badminton tournament attracted participation from around 100 students grouped into 26 teams (doubles and singles), while 240 students grouped into 20 teams participated in the Basketball Tournament.

The event was planned and coordinated by Mr. Sudhir Kumar Rath, Director, KIIT Hostel along with Mr. Tapan Ku. Pati, Sr. Administrative Officer; Mr. Satyajit Das, Asst. Administrative Officer and the officials of the Hostel Department. It was thoroughly enjoyed by the Indian and International students.

The objective of the Hostel Premier League was to promote sportsmanship and inter-hostel (Indian & International) camaraderie. It also focused on inspiring young students to realize their potential and build stronger communities while pursuing their professional course at KIIT.

Latest news The Final match of the Basketball Tournament was played between KP-8A International Boarders and KP-10B International Boarders. Despite the competitive nature of the matches, the spirit of sportsmanship prevailed throughout the tournament. Students enthusiastically participated in the event, while displaying respect for opponents, umpires, and teammates, setting positive examples among the hostel students.

At the closing ceremony of HPL Basketball Tournament on 5th April 2024, prizes for Champions and Runners-up of both Badminton and Basketball tournaments were given away. It was graced by Dr. Samaresh Mishra, Director, Student Affairs; Ms. Resham Nawaz, Dy. Director, International Relations; Dr. Mrutyunjay Das, Sr. Superintendent; Dr. Chitta Ranjan Pradhan, Sr. Superintendent and the officials of the KIIT Hostel Department. Participation of Certificates and Mementos were presented to all participants.
