75 Skilled Workers from KIIT leave for Kerala

A team of 75 skilled workers from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) left for Kerala on August 24, 2018 to support flood-affected people of the State. Massive flood in Kerala has devastated the entire state affecting more than 10 lakh people. The flooding damaged or destroyed thousands of homes in hundreds of villages. While the water has receded now, massive efforts are required to restore the damage caused by the flood. The team, which includes electricians, plumbers, welders, carpenters, snake catchers and A/C mechanics, etc., will stay there for one month and will support rehabilitation and restoration efforts in Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Thrissur and Kottayam districts.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS encouraged the team members and appreciated their enthusiasm for service to the people in distress. Inspired by Dr. Samanta, a 25-member medical team of KIMS is already in Kerala to render health services to the flood-hit.
