KIIT Celebrates National Science Day-2019

ISCA BBSR Chapter in association with KIIT-DU & KISS -DU organizes National Science Day 2019 on 28th February,  2019 at Campus -7 Auditorium. The theme of the conference was “Science for People and People for Science”.  

At the outset of the Inaugural Session, Dr. Kajal Parashar ,Convener, ISCA Bhubaneswar Chapter said,  right now,  we are amidst three pillars of India, i.e. Science Congress, KIIT-DU and KISS-DU. Without Science there can be no survival in this earth. National Science Day is being celebrated to  recall our reverence for the great CV Raman. We will be able to produce more APJ Abdul Kalams  and CV Ramans  in the days to come.

Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, Mr. Bishnu  Prasad  Biswal, Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow, Dept. of Nano chemistry, Max-Planck-Institute for Solid State Research, Heisenbergstr, Germany, in recalling the legendary CV Raman said, whenever we do anything with material characterization, we need CV Raman.

He further said that both People and Science are synchronized  and strongly interrelated to each other. Though Science has many positive and negative impacts, we need  Science to survive. It is nothing, but systematic integration and explanation of researches those accepted by the people at large. He urged the students to come together and join hands in order to contribute for the betterment of Science and save our planet.

Prof. Ramababu Kodali, Pro-VC, KIIT DU said that the theme (Science for People and People for Science)itself speaks a lot. All of us have acquired knowledge since birth.  He cited the exemplary feat of Padma Shree Kamala Pujari who acquired skills from  others. Without Formal Education, she could gain remarkable magnitude of applied knowledge, by virtue of which she became what she is today. Prof. Kodali advised the students to improve knowledge, skills, capabilities and imagination.

Prof. A.K. Rath former Scientist of ISRO highlighted the unique achievement of ISRO and said what India has achieved so far  in the domain of Space Science and Technology, have simply been unparalleled  in the world.

Dr. Sujata Acharya, Director of Academics, KISS-DU said that our day starts as well as ends with Science. Science has made our lives easier, more comfortable and successful. Life sans Science can’t be imagined of. Science should be used for the wellness and welfare of mankind.

Student prodigies, who have achieved APJ Abdul Kalam Ignite Awards from  the President of India for their Scientific Innovations, were felicitated by the Guests on the occasion.
