KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering organizes International Conference on “Advances in Materials and Manufacturing Engineering (ICAMME-2019),”the inauguration of which was held at Auditorium, Campus- 7 on 15th March, 2019.
Gracing the Inaugural Session, Dr. Mustafizur Rahman, Professor of Mechanical Engineering from National University, Singapore, said, “In bringing these two sciences and engineering in same platform, we can express our requirements for future. While all the developments come from necessity, we need those materials for new developments and innovations. I hope, through this attempt, we can take our manufacturing and industrial development to a new era, which would bring new innovation, products, culture and economy and those will move faster in a new sphere.”
Dr. D.K. Pratihar, Professor, Mechanical Engineering and Prof.-In-Charge of Robotics, IIT, Kharagpur said, “To ensure mechanical properties of the component, it depends upon the material technologies. There is a possibility during manufacturing that there could be a loss of property. This is regarding automation to bring competition in today’s world. You have to automate the process. Without automation process you can’t survive in this dynamic and competitive market. I appreciate the theme of the conference as it includes both metallurgy and mechanical in one conference.”
Dr. Md. Mamun Habib, Associate Professor, BRAC Business School, BRAC University, Bangladesh said “without Automation or Technological Advancements, whatever we do, is irrelevant and it would not be possible to survive. The title of the conference is appropriate for the young scholars who will have interaction with the professors and research scholars. The conference will be greatly helpful for them in order to explore new research and ideas. By this conference, we can put more research papers and add some values to the society.”
Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, VC, KIIT DU in his address said that developing different materials and techniques, we need to have this two issues, i.e. the materials and precision manufacturing process to meet some requirement of strategic applications. Now the research is multidisciplinary and contemporary that based on computer, communication and intelligence. If you add materials and manufacturing with marketing intelligence, it covers everything. He emphasized on multidisciplinary research, instead of traditional research.
At the outset, Dr. A.K. Sahoo, Dean KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering & Chairman of ICAMME-2019 placed the Welcome Address and briefly narrated the objectives of the conference in a nutshell. Dr. B. Surekha, Associate Professor, SME, & Convener, ICAMME-2019, elucidated the impact and utilities of this conference lucidly.
A publication on proceedings of ICAMME-2019 was unveiled by the Dignitaries. Authors of ICAMME-2019, Delegates, Professors, Faculties, Students, Academic and Administrative Staff Members among others were present on the occasion. Eventually, Dr. P.C. Mishra, Associate Dean, SME and Co-Chairman of ICAMME-2019 proposed Vote of Thanks.
