Inauguration of New Batches of KSOM, School of Biotechnology and School of Computer Applications

The Inauguration & Orientation Ceremony of BBA, BCA and B.Sc. Computer Science, Dual Degree Biotechnology, Chemical Technology, M.Sc. Biotechnology and Microbiology – 2020 Admitted Batches was held online on 20th September 2020.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS virtually inaugurated the batches in the presence of Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-Vice Chancellor;  Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar; Prof. S. K. Mahapatra, Director, KSOM; Prof. M. Suar, Director, School of Biotechnology; Prof. V. Goswami, Director, School of Computer Applications; and Prof. S. N. Mishra, Dean, KSOM.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Samanta apprised the students about the importance of the orientation program before the commencement of classes. Expressing concern about the safety of students in these difficult times, he explained how life is all about education and excellence, and compassion and humanity. These virtues lead to a complete human being, he added.

Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty elucidated on how the Founder has been translating his vision of making KIIT and KISS an institute of eminence to reality. Prof. Sasmita Samanta spoke about the fast pace of systems and processes which have been evolving with the intervention of human capabilities and briefed the students on the NEP-2020. Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty introduced the world-class infrastructure of KIIT to the newly admitted students.

Prof. S. N. Mishra proposed the vote of thanks emphasizing on the societal impact of the university. More than 500 students participated in the ceremony over a virtual platform.
